LC4 singles run tight valve check intervals and they mean it; skip them and a cheap adjustment becomes an engine rebuild. LC8 twins are easier on valves but demand coolant and oil discipline — these are high-strung engines running hot in traffic. More often — that's the honest answer. LC4 singles like the 690 and the 390 platform run tighter valve check intervals than LC8 twins, which stretch considerably longer between inspections. Skipping checks on a single is how a cheap adjustment becomes an expensive head job. We follow the factory schedule for your exact model and year, and every clearance we measure goes into your service record.
Will independent service void my KTM warranty?
No. Federal law protects your right to independent service as long as the work meets factory spec — and ours does. Every job is documented with torque values and the parts used, so if a warranty question ever comes up, you have a paper trail a dealer can't argue with.
